Blake Development provides more than just a school or provision; it is a service where Young People feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.
Blake Development exists to meet young people where they are—especially those who’ve struggled with mainstream education. Born from lived experience and a commitment to truth, we offer tailored support for those with low attendance, disruptive behaviour, or disengagement from learning.
We don’t just provide an alternative—we offer understanding, structure, and a path forward. Our service is shaped by real stories, real outcomes, and a deep belief that with the right approach, every young person can grow.
We work with schools, care homes, and local authorities who are serious about creating genuine change. Our value lies in offering a safe, inspiring space where young people feel seen, respected, and supported—not judged. About Presley
Mentor and Founder
Presley Wright is the founder of Blake Development and the driving force behind its unique approach to alternative education. His life reflects the very challenges many young people face today—unstable home environments, school exclusion, and being misunderstood within rigid systems. School never worked for Presley.
Like many of those he now supports, he was labelled early, overlooked, and cast aside by a system that couldn’t see beyond the behaviour.
But that wasn’t the end of the story. Later in life, Presley reinvented himself. He returned to education in his thirties, worked through an Access course, and went on to study to degree level—proving that potential doesn’t have an expiry date. That academic growth, combined with real-life experience, became the foundation for his mentoring approach: grounded, relatable, and deeply human.
Presley knows that behaviour is communication. He listens without judgement and challenges without shame. Through boxing, mentoring, and tailored support, he meets young people where they are—not where others think they should be.
Today, he uses everything he’s learned—through life and education—to build trust, unlock confidence, and offer real opportunity. Blake Development isn’t just a service. It’s Presley’s story, transformed into a solution for others.

It means doing what’s right, even when it’s not easy or visible. Many of the young people we support have faced inconsistency, instability, and systems that didn’t deliver. We’re here to change that. Role Models
Young people don’t need perfection — they need someone real to show them the way. At Blake Development, being a role model means more than just setting rules; it means living the values we expect from others. We lead by example — showing up, staying consistent, and doing the right thing, even when it's hard. For many of the young people we support, positive role models have been missing or inconsistent. We aim to change that by being steady, respectful, and honest in everything we do. Our actions speak louder than any words — and through those actions, we teach what’s possible.
Challenge Constructively
The right challenge can be the turning point for a young person. At Blake Development, we believe growth comes from being stretched — not judged. We challenge young people with care, honesty, and clear boundaries, always with their potential in mind. It’s not about control; it’s about helping them recognise what they’re capable of. Many haven’t been encouraged to aim higher or held to consistent standards — we offer that structure in a way that feels safe and supportive. And we’re not above challenge ourselves.
